Our ‘failed to attend’ and ‘short notice cancellation’ policy
DPAS Scheme:
Short Notice Cancellation – If an appointment is cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice and it is your first late cancellation, you will be sent a letter informing you of our practice policy on short notice cancellations. You will be able to rebook your appointment and no charges will apply.
If you cancel an appointment within 24 hours’ notice and it is the second occasion you have cancelled an appointment within 24 hours’ notice these appointments will be counted as one of your entitled plan appointments. These appointments can be rebooked; however, a £50.00 fee will apply per appointment.
Fail To Attend – If you fail to attend an appointment you will be sent a letter informing you of our practice policy on failing to attend appointments. You will be able to rebook your appointment and no charges will apply.
If you fail to attend an appointment for the second occasion these appointments will be counted as one of your entitled plan appointments. These appointments can be rebooked; however, a £50.00 fee will apply per appointment.
Private pay as you go routine examination appointment / Private pay as you go emergency appointment:
When booking a private pay as you go appointment we will take the payment of the appointment when arranging the appropriate appointment. You will be advised we require 24 hours notice of cancellation of an appointment, if you cancel within 24 hours notice or you fail to attend the appointment the payment for arranging the appointment is non refundable.
Treatment appointments:
For routine dental treatment appointments (extractions, fillings, hygienist etc) we require 24 hours notice of cancellation, if you cancel your appointment within 24 hours notice or fail to attend the appointment a £50.00 charge will apply.
Our Booking Policy for Endodontics (Root Canal Treatment)
At Bedlingtonshire Dental Practice we require 48 hours’ notice of cancellation of any Endodontic / Root Canal Appointment appointments.
When we arrange your initial Endodontic / Root Canal Treatment assessment a fee of £100.00 will be taken to secure the appointment if you cancel within 48 hours’ notice or fail to attend the appointment this charge is non-transferable or refundable.
When booking a Endodontic (root canal) treatment appointment a £200.00 deposit will be taken if this appointment is cancelled with less that 48 hours’ notice or you fail to attend the deposit fee is non refundable / non trasferable. A £200.00 deposit will be taken to re-schedule the appointment.

Our Booking Policy for Dental Implants
At Bedlingtonshire Dental Practice we require 48 hours’ notice of cancellation of any implant appointments.
When we arrange your initial implant assessment a fee of £165.00 will be taken to secure the appointment if you cancel within 48 hours’ notice or fail to attend the appointment this charge is non-transferable or refundable.
For any implant treatment appointments if an appointment is cancelled with less that 48 hours’ notice or you fail to attend a cancellation charge of £2.00 per minute for the lost surgery time will apply (e.g. £240.00 for a 2 hour appointment). The outstanding balance must be paid prior to any further appointments being arranged.

Bedlingtonshire Dental Practice Cancelling Appointments
We will only cancel or re-arrange your appointment in unavoidable circumstances. In the circumstance we have to cancel/rearrange your appointment we will make every reasonable effort to give you as much notice as possible and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. If you have paid a deposit this will automatically be added to your re-arranged appointment.
